Sally Wisdom was appointed Acting Director May 24, 2010. She had been Deputy Director since January, 2008. Sally is a Des Moines native and a graduate of the University of Iowa. She earned her Masters Degree in Library Science at the University of Arizona. She joined the Des Moines Public Library as a librarian at the Franklin Avenue Library in 1979 and has worked in different capacities
in six DMPL buildings. From 2003-2008, she was the manager of the Forest Avenue Library.
